Based in County Durham and Northumberland, UK we can offer
and advise you regarding coast and country holiday parks from
The Scottish Borders to North Yorkshire and from The Lake
District to Northumberland. We can help with international
locations too.
No other recognised
dealer in the UK represents as many holiday parks from
a single point.
A customer will benefit from dealing with Ideal Caravans
as opposed to any individual park or manufacturer because
Ideal Caravans manage a seamless bespoke 'package' approach
for a customer's convenience and peace of mind.
Ideal Caravans have strong, established links with the manufacturers
and holiday parks. This service works out less expensive -
and certainly more convenient - than having to piece together
a 'package' oneself.
A strong addition to our portfolio is the Sterling tourer
franchise at our Morpeth display area in Northumberland. Located
on the A197, Northumberland coastal route, just off the A1,
you will find an excellent selection of new and nearly-new
touring caravans.
History
Ideal Caravans was founded in 1973 by Olive and Walter Ballantine.
Initially operating from the registered office and main holiday
home display area located in Langley Moor, County Durham.
The name ‘ideal’ was inspired by a brand of condensed
milk used by Walter to compliment his tea.
In 2001, the company expanded to include a holiday home and
tourer display area at Clifton in Morpeth, to cater for customers
north of the Tyne. Both display areas are the perfect gateways
to access holiday parks throughout the north of England
Celebrated 30 years in business in 2003, followed in 2004
by the acquisition of Clennell Hall Riverside Holiday Park,
a quiet country retreat located in the Northumberland National
Park.
